You may recall that, back in October, I complained a tad about the HYSTERIA surrounding Temple’s game against Notre Dame. They were granted the elusive (or perhaps not so much) CSN Pregame Live, along with other padding programming, despite the game not airing on a Comcast-owned network– the sort of thing usually reserved for Eagles games. I wondered if Villanova basketball, by far the most successful major college sports program in the city, would get one. What would it take? The answer is a Final Four appearance.

CSN press release:

Villanova fans can turn to Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, the one network that has covered the Wildcats all season long, for comprehensive Final Four coverage on-air and online.  In addition to reports in all of the network’s news and talk shows, CSN will air pre and postgame shows surrounding Saturday’s game against Oklahoma in Houston.  John Clark, Neil Hartman and Reuben Frank will be with the team on the road to the National Championship.

Extensive Villanova Wildcat Final Four coverage will be on “Breakfast on Broad,” “Philly Sports Talk,” “SportsNet Central,” and CSNPhilly.com.

The third installment of CSN’s weekly NCAA Tournament special, “March to the Net” will air on Wednesday, March 30 at 6:30 p.m.

CSN and CSNPhilly.com will air Coach Jay Wright’s press conferences live on Thursday, March 31 at 12:50 p.m. and Friday, May 1 at 12:25 p.m.

Prior to the Villanova – Oklahoma matchup on Saturday, April 2, CSN will air a special “March to the Net” pregame show at 5:30 p.m.  Amy Fadool will host the program with live reports from John Clark.

Immediately following the Nova game “March to the Net” will air on The Comcast Network with live reaction from Houston and analysis in studio. A full report will also air in “SportsNet Central” at 10:30 p.m. and Midnight, and on CSNPhilly.com.

PRAISE THE LORD! MY EYES HATH SEEN THE DAY!!!

And methinks a pre-game show for the National Championship on Monday will slot nicely between Phillies Opening Day coverage and tipoff. Yum.
