Statement from the Flyers late last night:

Flyers forward Scott Laughton will be staying overnight at Jefferson Hospital for precautionary reasons. All tests are negative.

That’s great news. He was moving his arms and talking while on the ice, so that seemed to rule out the worst in that situation.

Strange play, too. Not the typical neck compression you’re worried about on hits into the boards, but a weird torque of his back-neck as he hit it with such force.

Side note: I’d take a swipe at Jim Hughson, the Canadian broadcaster in this video, for his dig at Flyers fans while Laughton was on the ice, but Hughson provided the soundtrack to my childhood in video games. So, it’s OK, Jim, you can stay. You make me feel warm.
