Phillies Have No Bat and Ball Sets for Bat and Ball Set Giveaway Day

Yesterday was Kids Run the Bases day at Citizens Bank Park, and children 14 and under were also set to receive a Phillies wiffle bat and ball set. There was only one problem: they didn’t have any of those.

The Phillies screwed up yesterday’s give away. Here is what they gave away. Phillies bat & ball set.. Yep! Everyone got that voucher and if you checkout the dates on it you can’t get it until August 2nd & it expires December 32st. Guess it will make a great xmas gift for some!? Their were a ton of kids in attendance for the kids run the bases too.
They told me the manufacturer didn't ship them on time.

I got a pack of trivia cards with the $1.99 price tag still on and a voucher to pick up the ball/bat after August 2nd.

We’re not sure if they had no sets or just too little, but it looks like they very quickly printed out a voucher on some blank tickets so those empty-handed fans could get the giveaway, you know, eventually. They have to wait three months to pick them up at the Majestic Store, but it’s at least a show of good fan relations to try to make it all square. Compare that to the city’s other rebuilding team’s efforts in fan communication, and the Phils end up smelling like a bed of roses… which will bloom just in time for fall.
