The roundup:

Lurking deep in the underbelly of the second level for the last few home games has apparently been a chorus of Ric Flair-esque woos just itching to get out. Last night, the Flyers finally provided the fuel with a 5-3 win, the first of Anthony Stolarz’s’s’s’s’s’s career. In the process, a legend was born:

To say I don’t see a t-shirt opportunity here, would be very incorrect.

Wait, what’s that? Andy Reid also did a “woo” after the Chiefs thrilling OT win last night?

Oh, well then.

Scott Hanson:

BIG BEAR Michael Leighton has resurfaced in warm-ish Carolina, skipping hibernation this season and playing for the Hurricanes, for whom he earned his first win since 2010(!!!) last night. So outraged by the loss to Leighton were the Panthers’ brass that they immediately fired head coach Gerard Gallant after the game and didn’t even bother giving him a lift home:

And – small world – Frank Seravalli wrote about what happened:

Gallant became the NHL’s first coaching casualty of the season when he was fired on Sunday night in rather bizarre fashion. Coaching changes happen all the time, but rarely so publicly, with Gallant awaiting his own transportation with reporters and cameras gathering around him while the Panthers left for Chicago.

“I was let go,” Gallant told reporters.

Panthers GM Tom Rowe will reportedly take over as interim head coach – the team’s fourth head coach since 2013-14. Rowe, 60, has never been an NHL head coach.

The Panthers landed in Chicago before midnight on Sunday but did not make any comment on the changes. Assistant coach Mike Kelly was also fired.

The chilling effects of a loss to Michael Leighton.

Hey, remember everyone wanted Adam Gase?

Of course Jay Wright won Preston and Steve’s pop-a-shot against other Philly coaches. OF COURSE HE DID:

I wonder how the audio of that went:

So, uh, when did KellyAnne Conway become a lunatic? I thought she was the sane one in this operation:

Conway called the reporting “sexist” and said she could have any job she wants, according to MSNBC.
Top aides to Trump said they were “baffled” over Conway’s comments about Romney, MSNBC reported earlier Monday. A source said her comments escalate concerns that Conway is “pushing her own agenda” instead of driving Trump’s message.

Incoming chief of staff Reince Priebus and incoming chief strategist Stephen Bannon are reportedly becoming frustrated that Conway is not becoming a team player.

Make no mistake, anyone with a brain could tell you that Romney would be an excellent choice as Secretary of State and probably the one guy who could save the Trump administration from, how do I put this lightly, BLOWING UP THE WORLD. In fact, Romney would’ve made a great president four years ago, but everyone got their panties in a bunch because he made an innocuous (and accurate!) observation about half the population. Oops.

Joel Embiid loves it when you call him… the process:

One would assume that the 76ers would want the Wells Fargo Center crowd to remain silent when Joel Embiid attempts foul shots.

But they have come to enjoy the “trust the process” chants whenever the franchise center steps to the line.

“I think we need something like that in this city,” coach Brett Brown said Sunday before the 112-108 setback to Cleveland. “I’m not frowning upon that. We want to have some fun. We want to find winning in a more defined way.”

The team’s slogan was “trust the process” during the last three seasons. Embiid gave himself the nickname, “The Process,” and the home crowd won’t let anyone forget when he’s at the foul line.

Correction to Keith Pompey– “trust the process” was anything but the team’s slogan. In fact, I’d argue they’ve tried to steer away from it because it was a Sam Hinkie thing. But whatever.

Sean McDonough has never been at Lincoln Financial Field:

Sean McDonough has broadcast countless sporting events in Philadelphia, from Villanova basketball on ESPN to Phillies baseball on CBS to Penn football on PBS in his first job out of college.

But he has never set foot in Lincoln Financial Field, believe it or not.

That will change Monday, when McDonough takes his place in the TV booth to call ESPN’s broadcast of the Eagles-Packers game.

I once peed next to Sean McDonough at the Pavilion before a Villanova-BC game. He was on the phone, trash talking his BC friend. He then proceeded to brush his teeth in the public restroom. I’ve always liked Sean McDonough, both before and after that strange encounter.

Pretty much the only way any of my baskets go in:

Harbaugh gonna Harbaugh:

Just…how does this still happen?

I don’t even know where to start with this:

The Eagles’ playoff chances took a hit yesterday.

Brett Brown really likes the “Trust the Process” chant.

Look at Janoris Jenkins, getting his name mentioned and stuff like a real player.

I thought everything was so much more polite in Canada, eh?

This is what happens when you give kickers media availability:

Can’t believe undercover Eagles fans started fights at the Raiders game. So many.
