Wayne Simmonds is an All-Star for the First Time
While Twitter has been inundated with #NBAVote Joel Embiid tweets, Wayne Simmonds earned himself his first selection to the NHL All-Star team.

Simmer was one of the division’s leading vote getters and will be the Flyers’ sole representative. According to a Flyers’ release, Simmons was pretty surprised:
“I think we have a lot of great players on this team and to be the guy chosen to represent the Flyers organization, it’s pretty special. There’s such a long list of All-Stars that play on this team and a lot of tradition, so it means a lot…
This is my first time being an All-Star and to represent the Flyers in Los Angeles where I came from and originally played is pretty special for me.”
Simmonds is the Flyers’ leader in goals (including one of the team’s two shorthanded scores), he’s third in assists, third in points, and first in shirtless appearances on the ice. He’s tied for seventh in the NHL in goals, tied for third in power play goals, and again, pretty sure he’s the leader in shirtless fights.
