I asked Kyle if calling Howie Roseman a genius in this post would be too strong and he said yes. So, Howie Roseman isn’t not a genius: The one-year deal that Alshon Jeffery took in order to prove himself comes with a base salary of only $9.5 million:

So it’ll be $14 million, at most. And only $9.5 million counts against the cap. His base salary is only $1 million with a $7.75 million signing bonus ($8.5 million guaranteed), $750,000 workout bonus, and $4.5 million in incentives. So much for all those takes about Jeffery being too expensive!
