The Eagles were known to be in the market for a wide receiver, and Torrey Smith was one of their top targets, going back to October. The deal is for three years, $15 million (which is not bad). The 28-year-old Smith previously played for the Ravens and 49ers, where he accumulated 4,521 yards and 37 touchdowns in six seasons. Smith is coming off a down year in San Francisco where he played only 12 games – missing some time due to a concussion – and was targeted a career-low 49 times for only 20 receptions (267 yards, 3 TDs). He averages 16.86 yards per reception over his career.

The signing of Smith cuts into the Eagles’ available cap space, but they still have more lying around than they did before they released Connor Barwin. This certainly won’t be their last move.
