A former second round pick in 2014, the Florida State defensive end is a former first-team All-American, second-team All-ACC, and BCS National Champion. At 6’2″-ish and around 300 lbs., Jernigan is slightly undersized but known for his strength.

Last season, Jernigan started 15 games and posted 31 total tackles, five sacks, and three pass deflections. In his three years in the NFL, all with Baltimore, he’s posted 13 total sacks. After committing a ton of money to Brandon Williams, Baltimore knew they wouldn’t be able to afford Jernigan as a UFA in 2018, so they sought value for him now.

Jernigan seems to be the Bennie Logan replacement. Not a bad deal to slide back a few spots to pick up solid – and young! – DT. Howie doing things.
