In the absence of anything else even remotely interesting going on in Philly sports, let me continue to beat the Kyle Lowry drum.

That there is a ‘gram of Lowry in Sixers blue – which dare I say he looks even better in than Villanova blue – liked by none other than Ben Simmons, the “point guard” with whom Lowry would have to share the ball.

Further, (@tallmaurice) dug up Snapchat video from All-Star weekend where Joel Embiid and Lowry shook hands, and if you listen closely, well…

Lowry has continued to improve as an off-ball shooter who can “get his” in a variety of ways. The natural transition to him as a scoring guard and Simmons as a ball-handling guard could overlap quite well.

Meanwhile, ESPN tweeted this out:

And Derek Bodner (paywall!) concluded the other day that the Sixers could theoretically fit Lowry and another max-level free agent under the cap:

“Building the bench would be tough, especially as Simmons and Saric come up for new contracts following the 2019-20 season. But if you walk away with a core of Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Kyle Lowry, Jonathan Isaac, and a Paul George level player it may not matter, even as Lowry begins his inevitable decline. I also think there’s some argument to be made that how swift Embiid’s rise to being an impact player should make you, at the very least, re-evaluate your definition of the timeline the Sixers are on.”

Fap, fap, fap.
