Report: The Kings Are Considering Trading Their Picks

The Kings don’t learn good.

Chad Ford, reporting today behind ESPN’s paywall:

There’s talk inside the organization about combining picks Nos. 5 and 10 to move up in the draft to secure Fox. If they found a taker, that would be a high price to pay to move up two to three spots.

My God, it’s like a report born out of a sports talk radio call-in line.

So which team could it possibly be? Let’s think. It’s not Boston, who’s taking Fultz. The Lakers will probably take Ball. The Suns will certainly have interest in Fox at four. So that leaves the Sixers, at three.

This is the scenario for the Sixers, if somehow the Kings don’t come to their senses and realize the irony of trading the Sixers’ pick back to them for their own original third pick, and then including the 10 pick just as the cherry on top.

I’ve said all along that it would be a great outcome if the Sixers could trade back and walk away with Malik Monk and presumably another first round pick. We’ve all speculated about doing the deal with the Kings, but who thought they’d be crazy enough to get in bed with the Sixers again? WILD!
