That Sound You Hear Is J.J. Redick Laying Waste to Orlando, Los Angeles and, Most Importantly, Milwaukee

Weeeeeeeeeee. And we’re off on the unofficial start of basketball season, the day we get a vague update on Joel Embiid media day, as the Sixers come out of the gate with a little SPUNK. First up, J.J. Redick shooting his pistol at his previous homes:

Redick, of course, played for the Magic, Bucks and Clippers before coming to a real sports city. Most notable is that one-year layover in Milwaukee (is there any other way to do that town?) and what it means for the budding rivalry (laughs) between the Sixers and Bucks.

You may recall the minor kerfuffle that took place earlier this year when Mallory Edens’ father, Wes, who also owns the Bucks, took a shot at the process, which was followed up by the Bucks trolling the Sixers when Malcolm Brogdon earned his honorary Michael Carter-Williams Award For Rookies Who Do Good and Then Promptly Fade from National Relevance.

Now we have Redick, a former Buck, casting a pale shadow atop the pale shadow that is Milwaukee. I, for one, am delighted at our new feisty jump shooter.

Meanwhile, Joel Embiid came after Howard Eskin (if only in a playful way) after Eskin reported that the reason for Embiid’s delayed 5-on-5 clearance was due to him holding out for a contract:

Is it just me or does Eskin flirt with athletes and coaches? Like I’m not sure of another way to describe his awkward demands for attention other than “flirting.”
