With Hurricane Irma barreling towards Florida with expected arrival in Miami around Sunday afternoon, the NFL announced earlier today that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Miami Dolphins game will not be played in Miami on Sunday. However, the league did not give the answer as to what will happen to the game.

Many reports have surfaced as to what could happen to get the contest played. The teams do have the same bye week, week 11, later this season, however many noted that would require the players to play 16 straight games, something the NFLPA might have a say in. Late Tuesday night, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reporter that a neutral site could be in the mix and that Philadelphia is in the discussion:

The Linc is available on Sunday as the Eagles open the season on the road against the Redskins, but Temple plays there on Saturday afternoon against Villanova. As for Pittsburgh, the Steelers are at the Browns on Sunday, while the University of Pitt is at Penn State on Saturday. Heinz Field is used often for high school football games, but not until the state playoffs in November and December, which presumably leaves that stadium available and unused all weekend.

Hosting Temple then an NFL game in the same weekend is not foreign to the Linc:

The 3:30pm kickoff would be make it a tough turnaround for the crew at the Linc, but it would certainly be worth it to see Jay Cutler’s grimace on the big screen on Sunday.

UPDATE: Nope!
