Cardinals-Eagles Week 5 Live Thread

The Eagles return home to take on the Arizona Cardinals in what will be a busy week for the Birds.

On the injury front, Ronald Darby and Fletcher Cox are out, while Corey Graham, Jaylen Watkins, Destiny Vaeao, and Wendell Smallwood are questionable. According to Ian Rapoport, Smallwood is not expected to play.

For the Cardinals, starting left tackle D.J. Humphries and defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche are out, while wide receivers John Brown, J.J. Nelson, and starting left guard Alex Boone are questionable. According to Adam Schefter, Brown is expected to play. The team also doesn’t have star running back David Johnson, who’s on IR.

It’s also the Eagles’ Cancer Awareness game, honoring fighting all forms of cancer. Beau Allen is honoring his mom, a breast cancer survivor:

3:55 – Bruce Arians, knowing that his team is down 27 with 1:30 left in the game, decided to call a timeout. Seriously.

3:48 – Jake Elliott drills an easy 28-yard field goal. Eagles lead 34-7 with two minutes left in the game. This drive started with 11:20 on the clock. Took 9:20 of game time. That’s called eating the clock.

1:01 – Eagles win the coin toss, but defer to the second half. Cardinals will begin the game on offense. Eagles going to test Arizona’s left side early. Cardinals have their fifth starting left guard this season.

11:30 – Official inactives are out. Along with Cox, Darby, and Smallwood, Destiny Vaeao and Jaylen Watkins are still out, while Shelton Gibson and Isaac Seumalo are healthy scratches once again.

The defensive line is heavy with no Smallwood. How much of Corey Clement and Kenjon Barner will we see? Will we even see Barner outside of punt returns?

For Arizona, their entire left side of their offensive line is out in Humphries and Boone.

John Wetzel is in at left tackle, while Earl Watford slots in at left guard.
