Eagles-Rams Week 14 Live Thread

The Eagles wrap up their two week stay out west today against the NFC West leading Los Angeles Rams.

With a win or tie, the Eagles would officially clinch the NFC East. They can also do so with a Cowboys loss or tie against the Giants.

On the injury front, tight end Zach Ertz (concussion) and linebacker Joe Walker (neck) are questionable. Adam Schefter said Ertz is doubtful to play, and Dave Spadaro did confirm that news.

For the Rams, linebackers Alec Ogletree and Connor Barwin, along with wide receiver Robert Woods, are all questionable. Woods won’t play today, according to Schefter. Barwin also won’t play. Ogletree is a game-time decision, according to Jay Glazer.

We’ll continually update this post as the game goes along. And check out our predictions to see how good (or probably bad) we guessed this game.

Kayvon Webster: 1 INT

7:59 – Final from LA: Eagles beat the Rams 43-35 after a Brandon Graham TD.

7:54 – Fourth down upcoming for the Eagles with seven seconds left. Unless anything bad happens, the Eagles will improve to 11-2 and will win the NFC East. And it might cost them their quarterback.

7:51 – BUT…..really crappy news.

7:50 – What a throw by Foles to Agholor for a first down!

7:46 – Big stop by the defense, and the Eagles take over. Two minute warning.

7:43 – Um.

7:40 – Elliott gets back on for a 33-yard try and makes it. Now 37-35 Eagles with 3:45 to go.

7:37 – Jake Elliott makes a 54-yard FG but IT DOESN’T MATTER! Personal foul on the kick by the Rams makes it a first down!

7:34 – Shady has faith.

7:33 – CHRIS LONG FORCES A FUMBLE! THE BIRDS ARE ALIVE!

7:30 – Rams RT Rob Havenstein limps off the field.

7:25 – More on the Wentz injury.

7:23 – Jake Elliott makes a 41-yard field goal with 9:54 to go. Eagles trail 35-34.

7:19 – Trumaine Johnson hurt for the Rams.

7:13 – Jesus.

7:10 – Fitting that we get this too.

7:09 – Touchdown Rams. It’s Gurley. Rams lead 35-31 with 13:58 left.

7:08 – Kill me.

7:06 – Todd Gurley is killing the Eagles. Close to a TD.

7:00 – After 3: Eagles lead 31-28. But the Rams are in striking distance of another TD.

6:59 – This defense is crap.

6:57 – Wentz is going to the locker room. No helmet with him. This is a state of emergency:

6:54 – Wentz is in the blue medical tent, and Nick Foles is warming up.

Also talking to the offensive line and taking snaps from Jason Kelce.

6:53 – TOUCHDOWN! Wentz breaks a franchise record for passing TDs with a throw to Alshon Jeffery, who makes a hell of a catch, on fourth and goal. 31-28 Birds.

6:49 – Carson Wentz is showing some signs of a limp.

6:45 – Trumaine Johnson with a taunting call is a gift from the football gods.

6:26 – Andrew Whitworth is done for the game for the Rams.

6:32 – Rams block a Donnie Jones punt, and return it for a touchdown. Returned by Blake Countess, a former Eagle. 28-24 Rams.

6:28 – Doesn’t seem like Wiz will start the second half:

6:26 – Touchdown Rams. Goff finds Sammy Watkins for the one-yard score. It’s 24-21 Eagles with 11:41 left in the third quarter.

6:24 – Todd Gurley and now Cooper Kupp are helping the Rams drive down into the Eagles’ redzone.

6:22 – Andrew Whitworth is back in for the Rams. Three missed tackles by the Eagles to start the half.

6:20 – Not only are the Birds dominating in the game, their fans have dominated the city of Los Angeles once again.

Second half is underway.

6:11 – HALFTIME STATS:

For the Eagles:

Carson Wentz: 16 of 30 for 236 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT, 1 carry for 5 yards
Jay Ajayi: 4 carries for 49 yards
Torrey Smith: 4 catches for 70 yards
Trey Burton: 4 catches for 55 yards, 2 TDs
Brent Celek: 1 catch for 5 yards, 1 TD

For the Rams:

Jared Goff: 8 of 17 for 118 yards, 1 TD, 1 carry for -1 yard
Todd Gurley: 5 carries for 44 yards, 1 TD, 1 catch for 10 yards
Cooper Kupp: 4 catches for 95 yards, 1 TD
Kayvon Webster: 1 INT

6:05 – Jake Elliott hits a 22-yard chip shot to make it a 24-14 game as the teams head to the locker room for halftime.

6:03 – Big play by Wentz to Torrey Smith.

5:50 – Stefen Wisniewski is probable to return from an ankle injury.

5:49 – Rams LT Andrew Whitworth is questionable to return with an ankle injury.

5:45 – Big stop on defense brings the offense back up. Warmack is still in for Wiz.

5:40 – More on Wiz:

5:39 – Eagles punt for the first time today.

5:35 – ?

Nevermind:

5:33 – Touchdown Rams. Really poor tackling gave the Rams a touchdown from Goff to Cooper Kupp for six yards. Kupp had a 64-yard catch-and-run earlier in the drive. 21-14 Birds.

5:27 – With that last TD, Wentz ties the franchise record for TDs in a season with 32, set by Sonny Jurgensen back in 1961.

5:24 – Bradley Cooper is in Jeffrey Lurie’s box:

5:23 – TOUCHDOWN. Wentz finds Trey Burton for the 11 yard score. They lead 21-7.

5:19 – Big balls Doug Pederson has returned.

5:16 – Rams CB Kayvon Webster is doubtful to return with an ankle injury.

5:12 – End of 1: Eagles lead the Rams 14-7.

5:11 – Jared Goff gets crushed by Fletcher Cox on third down. Eagles take over at their own 20.

5:03 – TOUCHDOWN! Wentz finds Trey Burton for a 20-yard score. Eagles lead 14-7 with 2:54 left in the first quarter.

5:00 – Mack Hollins should’ve caught this touchdown. Kayvon Webster got hurt on the play and is being carted off the field. Looks like a non-contact injury as well:

4:56 – After a rough opening drive, the Eagles are starting to click on offense. They’re down at the Rams 20.

4:51 – Eagles get a big stop on defense and force the Rams to punt. And the fans are present:

4:41 – TOUCHDOWN! Wentz finds Brent Celek from five yards out, and they all flap their wings.

7 all.

4:39 – Eagles are at the LA one yard line. They’re gonna score something.

4:33 – Todd Gurley runs for 30 yards, then finished the scoring drive for the two-yard TD. Rams up 7-0 early in the first quarter.

This is also not good:

4:29 – Opening drive ended quick. Wentz’s pass to Nelson Agholor is deflected and picked off by Keyvon Webster.

4:25 – Rams win the toss and defer to the second half. Eagles will start on offense.

4:17 – Here come the Birds:

4:09 – The Cowboys beat the Giants, and the Vikings lost to the Panthers. Eagles have to win in order to clinch the NFC East and take over the top seed in the NFC. A win would mean the team has to win at least two of their final three games to keep the top seed.

3:54 – Nelson Agholor is checking in from Southern California:

3:17 – Howie Roseman signed a fan’s prosthetic leg. So did Brent Celek:

3:02 – A Sidney Jones update:

2:55 – Inactives are out, and as expected, Ertz is out. So is Joe Walker.

For the Rams, Barwin and Woods are out. Alec Ogletree is in.
