WELCOME BACK! A truly throwback Tweet this is– Frank Seravalli reporting on JVR. It will be a five-year deal:

This is not the first time the Flyers have signed JVR to a long-term deal. In 2011, they signed him to a six-year, $25.5 million deal… and then promptly traded him away the next offseason for Luke Schenn, who was relatively useless. JVR, naturally, went on to have four near-30 goal seasons for the Maple Leafs and will now return to the Flyers, still in his prime, and add some much-needed scoring
depth just any scoring at all.
It looks like the Flyers are trying again.
