Adrian Wojnarowski had to drop this right at the end of Sixers’ minicamp availability.

He couldn’t even wait until we were done:

One year in that range is a phenomenal bit of business by the Sixers. You bring back your second-leading scorer from last season at nearly half the cost, don’t bog down your future with a long-term deal for a 34 year old, and leave yourself room for another mid-level, short term contract this summer.

Redick taking a one year deal in that price range tells me he really enjoyed his time in Philly. Also, I thought his contract might be a few million higher, based on the 1 year, $15 million that Trevor Ariza got from the Suns.

Now you’ve got JJ coming off the books next season as Klay Thompson and Kemba Walker become unrestricted free agents. Or, imagine if Markelle Fultz turns it around and is ready to assume Redick’s starting role going into the 2019-2020 season.

Time’s yours.
