Bleacher Report’s Master Tesfatsion did a really nice long-form profile piece on Saints’ running back/pass catcher/all-around stud Alvin Kamara.

The story reveals a lot about Kamara the person, his Atlanta roots, and the way he carries himself on and off the field.

“I don’t want to be a celebrity. That’s not my goal,” he tells Tesfatsion.

It’s really an interesting read, but the part that’s relevant to Philly is when Kamara talks about the Saints’ playoff loss to loss to the Vikings, a game in which they blew a late lead in dramatic fashion:

“I couldn’t even be mad. I was mad, of course, but it was like how does that even fucking happen? That’s not even real. It’s almost not realistic, like what the fuck?”

Kamara says he got over the game fairly quickly but was frustrated to see the Vikings allow 38 unanswered points in a blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, who defeated the New England Patriots two weeks later in Super Bowl 52.

“We’d beat the shit out of [the Eagles] cause we was rolling,” Kamara says. “If we won [versus Minnesota], I knew nobody was gonna stop us cause we came all the way back.”

Hmm, well, I’m not sure if the Saints would have beat the shit out of the Eagles, but we’re gonna find out this season when the Birds travel to NOLA in November.

Until then:
