You may or may not have seen the Twitter report last night that suggested the Eagles were interested in trading for Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson.

It came from former Steeler Bryant McFadden, who apparently is Peterson’s cousin. I’d say that’s a source “with knowledge of the situation.”

Anyway, related information popped up this morning on Twitter. Somebody slid into McFadden’s direct messages to ask about Peterson, and he revealed that the Eagles were offering “multiple picks” for the 28-year old, seven-time Pro Bowler:

The destination will not be the Saints, it appears, as New Orleans just completed a trade for Giants’ corner Eli Apple instead:

I’m not sure what the asking price is for Peterson, who has allowed 16 catches for 134 yards and two touchdowns this season (according to Pro Football Focus). Opposing quarterbacks have a 39.9 passer rating when targeting him, which, if I had to guess, is probably better than what Jalen Mills and Ronald Darby are allowing.

McFadden will be joining the WIP Evening Show at 8 p.m., so we’ll see what he has to say then, unless some kind of deal is worked beforehand.

The NFL trade deadline is still more than a week away. Peterson reportedly asked the Cardinals to deal him and he would carry a cap hit of a little more than six million dollars.
