Doug Pederson confirmed yesterday that Mike Groh, Jim Schwartz, and Dave Fipp will return as his coordinators in 2019.

One month prior, the Eagles’ head ball coach also confirmed that former quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo, who had just been fired by the Vikings, would not be coming back to Philadelphia.

So the landing spot for “Flip” is Jacksonville, the new offensive coordinator under Doug Marrone:

Nick Foles to Jacksonville?

It would make sense. He’s familiar with DeFilippo and the Jaguars are just one year removed from a 10-6 record and AFC Championship game appearance. The Jags could use a high-level wide receiver, but he’d have a pretty good running game, assuming Leonard Fournette stays healthy.

DeFilippo was hired as the Vikings’ offensive coordinator last winter, lasted 13 games, and then was fired in week 15. The Minnesota offense scored just 10 points in a must-win season finale at home against Chicago, so maybe the problems went beyond the guy calling the plays.

Flip started his NFL career with New York under Tom Coughlin, who is now the executive VP of football operations in Jacksonville, so there was an existing connection there.
