He’s going to sunny Arizona:

No surprises here. Hicks had injury issues over the last four seasons, only appearing in 16 games once in his career. He finished with 43 appearances vs. 64 possible appearances, logging eight games as a rookie, 16 in 2016, seven in 2017, and eight last year.

He was quality when on the field, but his injuries put more pressure on Nigel Bradham and Mychal Kendricks to pick up the slack during the Super Bowl winning season, and last year it was the same deal, sans Kendricks, with Hicks only playing 67% of the total defensive snaps as Kamu Grugier-Hill and Nate Gerry came in to cover for him in non-dime packages.

The Eagles linebacker depth now looks like this:

  • Bradham
  • Grugier-Hill
  • Gerry
  • B.J. Bello
  • Paul Worrilow (coming off ACL tear)

They’ll definitely need more at the position. LSU’s Devin White is seen as the top inside linebacker on the board come April, with Michigan’s Devin Bush, Alabama’s Mack Wilson, and Clemson’s Tre Lamar all expected to go in the late first or sometime in the second round.

As far as free agency, Mark Barron and Brandon Marshall are still out there. C.J. Mosley signed a big deal with the Jets and Kwon Alexander went to San Fran.
