Report: Sixers “Expected to Express Interest” in Andrew Bogut

With Joel Embiid still out, national treasure Boban Marjanovic sidelined for the time being, and Amir Johnson wasting a roster spot, it looks like the Sixers could be interested in the services of former Sixer Andrew Bogut:
Multiple contenders, including Golden State and Philadelphia, are expected to express interest in upcoming free agent Andrew Bogut. His season has ended in playoffs of Australia’s NBL, where Bogut was league MVP and DPOY, and he will take some time to decide on next team.

Yes former Sixer. I wouldn’t blame you if you forgot about the 2017 near-deadline deal that landed the former third team All-NBA and second team All-Defensive Team player in the City of Brotherly Love as part of the Nerlens Noel deal that netted the Sixers Bogut, Justin Anderson, and a fake first round pick. He negotiated his buyout shortly thereafter.
In theory, I’d be interested in rolling with Jonah Bolden as the primary backup center, but I’d take Bogut over Amir Johnson’s animated corpse any day that ends in “y”. Here’s how Bogut looked in his MVP and DPOY season, his first in the NBL.

Go get him, Elton. Pay him in Aussie meatpies if you must.
