Miles Sanders Among Offensive Rookie of the Year Favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook

The Eagles made their most significant investment of draft capital at running back in 10 years when they selected Penn State’s Miles Sanders with the 53rd overall pick on Friday night.
Sanders’ pass-catching ability should make him instantly valuable to the Eagles’ offensive attack, but with Corey Clement and Wendell Smallwood set to return and the newly-acquired Jordan Howard also in the fold, it remains to be seen just how many opportunities he will get in his rookie year.
That said, DraftKings Sportsbook released its NFL Rookie of the Year odds this morning and while Sanders’ odds aren’t quite as good as some of the more high-profile guys like Kyler Murray and Josh Jacobs, he’s definitely in the mix. Here’s a look at some of the top players for the award on both sides of the ball, after the jump.
NFL Rookie of the Year Odds | |||
Offensive | Defensive | ||
Kyler Murray | +300 | Nick Bosa | +700 |
Josh Jacobs | +600 | Quinnen Williams | +900 |
Dwayne Haskins | +700 | Josh Allen | +1000 |
Miles Sanders | +1000 | Montez Sweat | +1100 |
Marquise Brown | +1400 | Ed Oliver | +1200 |
As you can see, Sanders checks in with the fourth-best odds, which puts him ahead of 22 other players currently on the board at DraftKings. One of those players is the Eagles’ other second round selection, WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside, who’s currently listed at +2500. Theoretically, there could be some value in backing Arcega-Whiteside in what should be a potent Eagles’ passing attack, and although he’s not expected to work much out of the slot, his price could increase should the Eagles eventually trade Nelson Agholor this offseason.
Either way, he’s a better play than taking new Giants QB Daniel Jones, who’s also currently listed at +2500. Maybe just save your money on that one.
As for how bettors at DraftKings are hitting the Super Bowl winner market, well, they like the New Jersey market teams. The Eagles lead the way with 20% of the action, while the Jets are getting 9% and the Giants 8%. That makes sense given the majority of bettors want to back their own squads, and in the case of the people from North Jersey, they also want to lose their money.
Sorry. Just saying.
