So this is interesting.

NBC Sports Philly is debuting an alternative Sixers broadcast with a gambling theme, beginning Wednesday night on NBCSP+.

Via Jeff Blumenthal at the Philadelphia Business Journal:

While Marc Zumoff, Alaa Abdelnaby and Serena Winters call the game on NBC Sports Philadelphia, the second telecast will feature betting-related commentary and analysis in real time, along with up-to-date betting data and information.

The telecast will be led by the three hosts of the station’s new betting-centric program The Daily Line — Marc Farzetta, Anthony Gargano and sports-betting expert Brad Feinberg. Farzetta was the co-host of Philly Sports Talk before it was cancelled after 21 years last month. He also hosts the morning show on 97.5 The Fanatic (WPEN-FM), where Gargano works a midday shift.

That Daily Line program aired Saturdays at 5 p.m. through the end of the NFL season, I believe. It was also rolled out at other regional NBC affiliates, like Washington:

You may have also heard Gargano hosting a few remote broadcasts for 97.5 the Fanatic, some recent 6 p.m. shifts where he’s focused on the NCAA Tournament and had betting experts on the show.

Blumenthal also writes that the trio will discuss “a variety of betting lines and how gameplay impacts certain bets,” with on-screen graphics showing betting information and data. The rest of the broadcast will match the same video and the same camera shots from the game telecast on NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Is this something you would watch? Maybe flip back and forth? NBCSP also has the Sixers Outsiders show airing directly after the game, so there’s no shortage of basketball programming on the network as of April 2nd, 2019.
