Well this is certainly something. New Era released their 2019 NFL Draft Day caps today. In line with New Era’s city/state flag designs, the Eagles’ cap features the a banner and the motto “Philadelphia Maneto” – loosely translated to mean “Let brotherly love endure” – that you may recognize from anything bearing the city’s flag.

There are two main configurations of the hat: one of which I despise, and the other which I quite like. Let’s take a closer look at the hat that will adorn the head of our newest Midnight-Green-donning heroes:

Midnight Green

If you so choose to go with the team’s primary color, it looks like this:

To be frank, I don’t like this one at all. The banner doesn’t fit the aesthetic of this cap at all. There’s no semblance of city pride. It looks more like a lower-back tattoo you’ll find down the shore this summer. It was a poor choice. There’s no need to compound it by putting it up for sale. Maybe you disagree. Just like the city color edition, this cap is also available in fitted and snapback flat brim styles.

Yes, yes, yes! I absolutely love this design. The color scheme makes the banner feel like a nice enhancement; it doesn’t feel remotely out of place. The combination of the blue and yellow with the “Philadelphia Maneto” slogan makes it feel unique and I’m going to buy one. Just like the midnight green edition, there are also flat brim versions in both fitted and snapback variations.
