Series. Over. And it wasn’t ever close.

The Sixers took care of the Nets in dominating fashion 122-100 Tuesday night to win the series four games to one. It was 14-0 early in the first quarter. Brooklyn finally scored their first points nearly six minutes into the opening quarter, but the defense was unreal. Philly then went up 23-2 before holding a huge lead for the remainder of the game. They led by 29 at half and nearly got up to 40 in the third quarter.

Joel Embiid led the way with 23 points and 13 rebounds in only 20 minutes. That certainly helps. Ben Simmons had 13, and four other players finished in double figures. On the other end, everyone’s favorite Net Jared Dudley finished with two assists, a rebound, and a steal. And a big fat L.

Up next is Toronto. If the Sixers want to win that series, they’ll have to be on their A-game for pretty much every minute of the series. Marc Gasol has given Embiid some trouble, and we know about what Kawhi Leonard can do.

One note for today on the site: Kevin and Kyle are both out. But congratulate Kevin on his first child.

The Roundup:

The Phillies also had a game. People forget that. Probably a really good thing because they got crushed 9-0 to the Mets. Zack Wheeler pretty much beat the Phils by himself. Along with allowing no runs on five hits with 11 strikeouts in seven innings, the pitcher was 2-for-3 with a double and a home run for three RBIs. Todd Frazier also hit a grand slam homer in the fifth.

With two outs in the ninth inning, Rhys Hoskins got some high heat and was not happy about it.

The Phils hit two Met batters previously in the seventh. Maybe retaliation for that?

They play again tonight at 7:10 PM on NBC Sports Philadelphia. Vince Velasquez looks to avoid being swept and faces off against Jason Vargas.

Tim writes his thoughts on the Kate Smith controversy. And the Snow the Goalie gang have their takes on it as well as the Alain Vigneault hiring.

Also, Ross Tucker will replace Mike Mayock as the team’s new preseason color commentator.
