Schefter: Joe Douglas Discussed as a "Potential GM" for the New York Jets
Let’s get it back to the Eagles.
Today the Jets fired General Manager Mike Maccagnan and Vice President of Player Personnel Brian Heimerdinger, promoting head coach Adam Gase to interim GM.
That has nothing to do with the Birds, but this does:
Eagles’ vice president of player personnel Joe Douglas is close to Jets’ HC Adam Gase and has been discussed in league circles for a while now as the potential GM for the NYJ.

Douglas and Gase know each other from their Chicago ties. Douglas spent the 2015 season as the Bears’ Director of College Scouting while Gase was the Offensive Coordinator under John Fox.
Joe D has been with the Eagles since 2016 and helped construct the Super Bowl-winning roster. Obviously Howie Roseman has final say on personnel moves, so this would be a step up for Douglas, who is a prime candidate to eventually land a GM job somewhere else.
