Your Tuesday Morning Roundup
With the Phillies off, there’s not a lot to discuss. The Eagles report to training camp tomorrow, so that’s still just more hype.
Maybe the biggest piece of news, if you want to call it that, is that Ben Simmons has a jump shot. We think.
I say ‘we think’ because I want to see it put into game action once the Sixers return in September/October. So far, it looks like a good jumper and a better one than Markelle Fultz. So I’ll take that and run with it.
Let’s hope he continues to work on it and refines it throughout the summer. Then he finally shoots a three and it goes in. And then he wins multiple MVPs and helps the Sixers win multiple NBA Finals. It might be a little too much, but always chase your dreams.
In other Sixers news, Tobias Harris is pulling out of USA Basketball Training Camp to focus on winning said multiple NBA Finals with the team. Good for him.
The Roundup:
As mentioned, the Phillies were off yesterday as they traveled to Detroit. A two-game series with the Tigers begins tonight at 7:10 PM on NBC Sports Philadelphia with Aaron Nola on the mound against Matthew Boyd.
With the Trade Deadline approaching, the Phils are looking at two Diamondback pitchers for potential help in the starting rotation.
Also as mentioned, the Eagles report to training camp tomorrow. Football baby! So with that, here’s the top training camp position battles to keep an eye on, as well as the five things the team needs to fix in order to return to the Super Bowl.
Let’s also take a second and remember some of the GOAT training camp players.
Former long snapper Jon Dorenbos gave us a good laugh with a Dallas Cowboys joke.
FanDuel Sportsbook PA began testing yesterday in Pennsylvania.
In other sports news, Odell Beckham Jr. felt “disrespected” by the New York Giants.
Someone made a fake Top 25 Quarterbacks list that fooled a lot of people.
Northwestern football coach Pat Fitzgerald went off about phones.
In the news, Doylestown had a microburst yesterday:
