Cowboys Extend Tackle La'el Collins, Still Nothing on the Zeke Front
Jaylon Smith got his extension and now right tackle La’el Collins is the recipient of a five year deal, per Adam Schefter and others:
Cowboy and OT La’el Collins reached agreement on a five-year contract extension that ties him to Dallas for the next six seasons, per source. It will make Collins one of the NFL’s five-highest paid RTs.

No $$$ figures yet, but I’ll update if anything hits social media.
Collins was an undrafted free agent due to off-field issues coming out of LSU. He was snagged by the Cowboys, played originally as a left guard, and then moved over to tackle in 2017 after Doug Free retired. Collins has played all 32 games in two seasons since making that switch.
So nothing yet on the Zeke Elliott front, the Dak Prescott front, or the Amari Cooper front, but Smith and Collins got their extensions. Zeke continues his holdout while Prescott and Cooper are in the final year of their rookie deals.
Collins was the 8th-highest paid right tackle on his current deal, which you can see after the jump:
We’ll see where the new deal places him on the list.
EDIT –
here it is:
Comp update: Cowboys and OT La’el Collins reached agreement on a five-year, $50 million contract extension that includes $35 million guaranteed, per source. It’s the highest guarantee given to a right tackle.
