Not a surprise here, but today Doug Pederson ruled DeSean Jackson out of Sunday’s game. Jackson was in for a handful of snaps on Sunday night before being sidelined with a groin issue.

Doug did, however, say he’s “optimistic” regarding Dallas Goedert and Alshon Jeffery, but who knows what that means specifically. Goedert was pulled before the Falcons game with his calf injury and Jeffery played only a few snaps before also coming out with a calf problem. Based on everything we’ve read this week, I’d be shocked if those guys played.

Pederson also somewhat brushed off a question about Isaac Seumalo, who had a poor game Sunday night, saying this:

“Here’s what I know; everybody’s going to have a bad game, right? One game does not decide somebody’s season. Am I supposed to bench (Nelson Agholor) for dropping a pass or Zach Ertz for not getting a first down? You know what I’m saying? You’re not gonna do that. It’s not gonna define Isaac. It’s not gonna define our season, so one game to me doesn’t determine to me if we need to make a move at any position on a team.

….

If you go back to my first season with Nelly, for instance, it was cumulative, it was over multiple weeks, just to separate him at that time and how he’s recovered and bounced back from that. For me it would have to be a repetitive thing or an injury thing. In this case I’ve got some so much trust in the ability and skill of Isaac.”

Translated, Pederson isn’t benching Seumalo after one poor performance.
