Ezekiel Elliott Flying Back to Dallas, Working With Cowboys on Deal
Zeke who?
That’s what my main man Jerry Jones said a few weeks ago.
He was seemingly annoyed with the holdout status of his star running back, who has been training in Cabo while hopefully also hanging out with Sammy Hagar, who was not as bad as David Lee Roth fans would lead you to believe. Zeke, now, is flying back to the big D, via Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen at ESPN:
Ezekiel Elliott and the Dallas Cowboys are acting with a sense of urgency to finalize a deal in the next 24 hours that would allow the star running back to practice Wednesday and play in Sunday’s season opener against the New York Giants, sources told ESPN’s Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter.
A deal between Elliott and the Cowboys does not appear to be far off, the sources told Mortensen and Schefter, but there are still issues that must be agreed upon.
Another source told ESPN’s Ed Werder earlier Tuesday that the Cowboys and Elliott are working well together on the contract talks, but there’s “serious work left.”
Earlier today the Cowboys extended right tackle La’el Collins, giving him a reported five year, $50 million dollar contract with $35 million guaranteed. Linebacker Jaylon Smith also received a five year deal with 35 of the $64 million guaranteed.
Is Zeke next? Dak Prescott? Amari Cooper?
I personally believe the Cowboys should give Elliott 10 years and $150 million, all guaranteed. He is THAT good, and deserves the biggest running back contract in history.
