Doug Pederson is “Optimistic” That DeSean Jackson Will Play Sunday

The Eagles will wear black uniforms on Sunday.
Will DeSean Jaccson be suited up?
Perhaps, according to head ball coach Doug Pederson, who said this Friday about the recovering veteran speed burner:
I’m optimistic that he’ll play. We’re gonna get through today; again, he’s had a great week of practice and he’s been limited on the injury report all week. We’ll get through today and tomorrow and we’re optimistic he can play.
Sounds good to me. But if D Jax plays, how many snaps? Is he a full go?
Doug:
It’s something we’ll sort of have to monitor. But as we’ve always said too, the guys that dress will play. We’ll see.
Would be nice to see DeSean back out there, but worst case scenario is he misses one more game, the Birds hit the bye week, and he’s ready to roll against the Patriots.
More notes from Pederson’s Friday presser:
- Tim Jernigan is in the same boat as Jackson, they will get through today and see where he’s at
- Jason Peters and Nigel Bradham won’t play
- Avonte Maddox will step into the nickel spot
- Darren Sproles could possibly play
- Jordan Howard has had a good week of practice ahead of playing against his former team
- they expect that Andre Dillard will see snaps against Khalil Mack this weekend
That’s about it. Eagles beat the Bears this weekend to improve to 5-4 as they hit the bye week. You heard it here first. Lock it in.
