Eric Johnson Is Out as Program Director at 97.5 The Fanatic

Sources tell us that Eric Johnson is out as program director at 97.5 The Fanatic.

On a day where it was made public that WIP would be extending the contract of Angelo Cataldi, we learn that its competitor has fired its program director.

Johnson joined 97.5 in 2017 after a long stint in top 40 radio in New Jersey and, prior to that, working under Tom Bigby at WIP as assistant program director in the 90s and early 2000s.

We will have more soon.

      1. Her chemistry with the Cuz was awesome. This joker was like pig vomit to Howard. The Cuz is a great talent. Don’t fuck with him.

    1. With a reply like that, I know ur not really a radio insider. Old PD let MCW go, not the dude that got fired today. And no one cares about pissing Cuz off. Trust me. He’s lucky to have a job

    1. This. You can say what you want about Angelo being unlistenable, but that morning show 97.5 is throwing out there is an abomination.

  1. And he worked at WIP in the late 90’s and NJ 101.5 since 99. Just a simple google search would tell you that you lazy dick

  2. Bruno and Mayes were the best. Bruno just does what he wants to do, but a station that doesn’t keep Mayes is just dumb.

    1. Agreed 100%. I met him and Miss Robin one day at Chickie’s and Pete’s and she cried bloody murder about 97.5… Prob b/c they wouldn’t pay her… Bruno and Mayes were great, EVERYDAY.

  3. Weak station. Weak on air personalities. Morning crew is a dumpster fire. They all should be gone. Cuz is a mess. No one lasts with him. Mike is ok in Philly but could not make it anywhere big with that show. Sad that this is what we are offered as sports radio in Philly. Hard to listen to.
