Joel Embiid Won’t Play Tonight

joel embiid load

It’s load management disguised as “injury maintenance/left knee soreness.”

Correct decision to sit him, though. He played 35 minutes last night and there’s really no need for him to play in any back-to-back games at all. This is why you went out and got Al Horford, who was given a rest and sat out the Cleveland game. You now have bona fide backup big man options for a clustered schedule. Horford, Kyle O’Quinn, and Norvel Pelle is enough center depth to get a November road win in Orlando.

Seems like the oddsmakers got an early sniff of the Embiid situation, because the lines shifted significantly about six hours prior to public confirmation. That’s not news in itself, since lines move all the time based on a range of information, but it does seem that the books were on to this even though there hadn’t been a report about Embiid’s status.

Kevin seriously what are you talking about? No need to play him in back to backs? Isn’t he like 25??? It is amazing that this nonsense is tolerated but such is today’s youth. Jordan era guys and the ones before them would absolutely destroy players like embiid on the court mentally with relentless trash talk.

    1. Embid is soft, Mr 2nd round! Mr bawling his eyes out. Mr sloppiest soft body. Mr all bark, no bite. Mr do you really think he is 25? Mr man tits

  2. Regardless of Embiid, Orlando has been a HUGE disappointment this year. They have won 1 of their last 6 (against a rebuilding Memphis team). Sixers will rally after getting boo’ed off the court last night in a win (against a Cleveland team that is well coached and sneaky good right now). Sixers win a laugher tonight….they have the proper motivation for playing hard tonight.
