Jason Myrtetus was let go by 97.5 the Fanatic yesterday, telling Twitter followers that he was informed of his dismissal after wrapping up his 10-2 midday shift alongside Anthony Gargano.

Myrtetus wore various hats at the station, at one time serving as Mike Missanelli’s producer, which predated Tyrone Johnson and Natalie Egenolf’s addition to the show. Thursday night, after the Myrtetus news dropped, Mike shouted out his former PM drive compadre:

Myrtetus was active on the microphone while working Mike’s show. Honestly, I thought they were really damn good together, had a solid on-air understanding, and even got into some interesting pseudo-beefs regarding Jason’s love of hockey and Mike’s not-interested-at-all take on hockey. Either way, it was good radio.

Mike also retweeted a guy who asked him to “pour one out” for Myrtetus, so that was noticeable as well. I don’t recall Missanelli making any kind of public comments on the departures of past Fanatic hosts, at least on Twitter, but I could certainly be wrong.
