Anthony Rendon signed with the Angels Wednesday night on a seven-year deal worth $245 million. That amounts to $35 million a year, a higher AAV than both Bryce Harper and Manny Machado, who joined the Phils and Padres last season following high-profile free agency periods.

It was the third straight day a Scott Boras player locked in a monolithic deal, a total of more than $800 million dollars now in offseason contracts this week alone:

5% commission for $40 million dollars? Not bad!

And he still has clients Hyun-jin Ryu, Dallas Keuchel, and Nicholas Castellanos currently operating as free agents right now. There will be more money coming down the pike. Mike Moustakas is also on the roster and he signed for $64 million, so Boras is already close to ~900 million on just four players alone.

The nice thing is that this isn’t being dragged out, like last year. What a brutal process that was, nothing but vague Jon Heyman and Bob Nightengale tweets to get us through the winter. This is how it should be done every year. Let’s lock these guys up and get on with it.
