There was a rumor going around a couple of weeks ago involving Zach Ertz and Julio Jones. The Eagles were “interested” in Jones and willing to move Ertz, or something like that.

I don’t know where it came from, but it’s that time of the year, when NFL rumors kick into a higher gear approaching the draft. You’ve got all sorts of stuff floating around out there, i.e. team X is interested in player Y and whatever else people come up with on the internet these days.

All of that assorted nonsense coalesced into a pretty good rant from Adam Caplan on the most recent Inside the Birds podcast:

It’s all true, especially the part about agents talking to players, who want to know whether they’ve been traded or not traded, or drafted or not drafted after being made aware of these internet rumors. There’s a human side to all of it that gets tossed on the back burner when we throw shit at the wall.

Good rant from Caplan. Inside the Birds is a solid Eagles podcast.
