Here's an Explanation for Dave Gettleman Putting on the Mask
(Note: I took this post down to update)
Giants GM Dave Gettleman was seen putting on a mask tonight while inside his house with what appears to be nobody around him:
I love my GM masking up and protecting against the spread of coronavirus even when he’s in his own house. Dave Gettleman is trying to save the world all by himself pic.twitter.com/8b1ImKrBKm

Zack Rosenblatt at NJ.com gave this explanation:
There a logical explanation for why Gettleman was wearing a mask. Actually, two.
1. The Giants have an IT staffer at Gettleman’s house to help during a virtual draft.
2. Gettleman is protecting himself after going through chemotherapy two years ago as a result of a battle with lymphoma.
The cancer went into “complete remission” back in July 2018 and he’s healthy now.
So, it was a protective measure and a logical decision for Gettleman to wear a mask.
That would make sense, though shouldn’t he have been… wearing the mask the entire time? Seemed a little strange to see him put it on at that particular time, but maybe the IT person had just walked into the room. Dunno.
Right, so the Giants took offensive tackle Andrew Thomas with the fourth overall pick.
Really good player, but a bit of a reach, since he was not the top rated tackle on pretty much anybody’s board. Most experts had Tristan Wirfs and Jedrick Wills coming off the board first, with Thomas in that 8-14 range. Mekhi Becton was right there, too. Thomas seemed to be a consensus #3 or #4 tackle in most mock drafts.
