Avalon and Stone Harbor beaches reopened today for limited activity, like running, fishing, and surfing. You just can’t sit on the sand and read your Clive Cussler book, or buy a fudgy wudgie from the ice cream guy. Nothing like that.

As such, things are slowly getting back to normal, it would seem, but Pennsylvania’s health secretary is suggesting that you avoid the Jersey shore entirely.

Dr. Rachel Levine, via Pennlive:

“There’s no enforcement against travel in Pennsylvania, or between states, so there’s no law or regulation that prevents travel within Pennsylvania or between Pennsylvania in New Jersey,” Pa. Health Department Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine said Thursday.

My recommendation, however, is not to do that.”

“I know it’s tempting given the warm weather that hopefully will be coming soon, but going into New Jersey can have risks because New Jersey has had a very high incidence of COVID-19,” Levine said, “and if you go to the shore, I bet you other people will go to the shore, and then it’ll be very almost impossible to practice social distancing.

And so, my recommendation is for people to stay home.”

Yeah, good luck trying to stop it. Once the shore towns open up fully, tens of thousands of shoobie motherfuckers will descend, like a flock of seagulls trying to snatch the Manco and Manco pizza right out of your hands.
