Looked at the Eagles’ schedule last night and I’ve got them going 16-0.

Anyway, Rasul Douglas reportedly restructured his contract, according to Mike Kaye over at NJ.com:

The Eagles and Douglas recently reached an agreement on a contract restructure, a person with knowledge of the situation told NJ Advance Media. However, the exact details of the restructure have not been confirmed.

The East Orange native was set to make $2.133 million on the final year of his rookie contract, per Over The Cap. His cap number was set to be $2.3 million due to a prorated bonus. The restructuring of his contract likely lowered his cap number and/or his salary to make it more manageable under the Eagles’ current cap situation.

Douglas is gonna have to compete for playing time this year with the new additions to the defensive backfield. As of right now, this is what the safety and corner depth looks like:

  • safeties: Rodney McLeod, Will Parks, K’Von Wallace, Jalen Mills, Rudy Ford, Marcus Epps,
  • corners: Darius Slay, Nickell Robey-Coleman, Avonte Maddox, Cre’Von LeBlanc, Sidney Jones, Rasul Douglas, Trevor Williams, Craig James, Grayland Arnold, Tremon Smith

Might have missed a corner in there, but that’s the outlook right now. Playing time on the outside might be hard to come by, and they addressed their issues at safety, so any idea of moving Douglas might be out of the question at this point.
