Michael Bennett had to do it. He had to bring up the Nick Foles vs. Carson Wentz thing, when most of us I think would prefer to see that argument banished for all of time and eternity.

The former Eagle was on Chris Long’s podcast along with Devin McCourty, and during an otherwise interesting discussion on George Floyd and race relations in America, Long mentioned Carson Wentz coming out and issuing a statement about racial injustice, which resulted in this exchange:

Chris Long: And there’s no doubt, for a white player, I look at the Carson Wentz situation, someone I always knew had it in him. If you play with Carson, he’s a good guy, but you don’t know if he has the intestinal fortitude to be that first one to step over the –

Michael Bennett: Nick Foles is better, but keep going.

Long: He said Nick Foles is better. Jesus Christ.

Devin McCourty: Yes (laughing).

Bennett: Keep going, keep going.

Long: As a sidebar, it seems like it kind of matters what team you are on, too, because it didn’t go as well in Jacksonville.

Bennett: Yeah, yeah, I’m just saying.

Long: You are the worst (laughs). We are trying to have a serious conversation and you wanna divide Philly in half. I love both those motherfuckers, let me both-sides that. How about that? There is no both-sidesing on police brutality to me, but on the Nick Foles/Carson Wentz debate, I’m gonna straddle the fucking line like a champ.

Please merciful God in heaven, hear our prayers. No more Nick Foles vs. Carson Wentz debate as long as the grass is green and the sky is blue and the Earth continues to orbit the sun.

No more.
