The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region provides housing, transportation, food, and other critical services to families traveling to the city for pediatric care.

You’re probably familiar with their mission and their programs, which in this area typically support moms and dads who take their children to CHOP or St. Christopher’s and find themselves in need of aid.

About 90% of RMHC funding comes via donations, and the current COVID-19 pandemic is understandably putting a strain on the effort to meet annual goals, so the folks here in Philadelphia have put together an “Ultimate Philly Auction” where you can bid online for a number of really cool items, many of which are sports related.

Here are some of the packages that jumped out at me:

Brian Dawkins Eagles package

If you are the ultimate Eagles fan, this package is for you. You will receive a personal tour of the Eagles training facility with an Eagles insider, tickets to a Brian Dawkins event, and autographed memorabilia by Eagles greats.

Villanova Basketball, a day with the Wildcats

You and a guest will meet Head Coach Jay Wright and the 2020-2021 Villanova Wildcats and enjoy a VIP tour of the Newly Renovated Finneran Pavilion and First-Class Practice Facilities. Experience also includes firsthand account of the Wildcats as they prepare for competition.

John LeClair dinner package

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a Philadelphia Flyer? Former player John LeClair is ready to dine with you and 5 guests at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, and answer all your questions about being a professional hockey player. You will also receive 4 tickets (Section 124, Seats 1 – 4) to a Philadelphia Flyers game in the 2021 season with VIP parking included.

Merrill Reese golf experience

You and a guest have the unique opportunity to play golf with Merrill Reese, the voice of the Philadelphia Eagles, and PT Deon at The Union League Golf Club at Torresdale or Union League National Golf Club.

There’s a lot of fantastic stuff listed, both online auctions and raffle items. The packages are cool, the starting prices are very reasonable, and of course it’s all for a great cause.

Here’s the link again for the auction site. You’ll be able to bid through August 10th.
