Police arrested the guy who allegedly clocked Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert at a South Dakota bar this past weekend.

Here’s the press release via the Aberdeen PD:

Who punches somebody when they aren’t looking? There’s nothing more cowardly than a sucker punch.

Tim McManus at ESPN has some details:

Hadala, who was in South Dakota for work, a source said, has been released on a personal recognizance bond and is not permitted to have any contact with the victim. His initial court appearance is scheduled for July 10th.

Goedert did not sustain any serious bodily injury, which was the deciding factor on why Hadala was charged with simple assault — a Class 1 misdemeanor — as opposed to a more serious charge, according to Brown County chief deputy state’s attorney Ernest Thompson.

And Les Bowen at the Inquirer:

A source with knowledge of the situation said Goedert “was with some friends and family, and two guys kept saying disrespectful things.” The source said Goedert walked over to “tell them to chill,” and was punched.

Sounds like this Kyle Hadala guy is a total asshole (allegedly). Here’s a live look at Philadelphia Eagles fans and players lining up to defend Dallas Goedert after this ridiculous sucker punch:
