We Made it to the COVID-19 Green Phase in Pennsylvania

Good job everybody.
We made it to the “green phase” of COVID-19 reopening in Pennsylvania. All southeastern counties have moved out of red and yellow status.
Philadelphia is a bit behind, of course. We’ve got more people in a more densely packed area, so Mayor Kenney and local health officials are holding us back a bit. As of today, the 26th, we can use the following:
- Residential swimming pools and private swim clubs
- Zoo (outside only)
- Personal services such as salons, barbers, and spas
- Small indoor social and religious gatherings (up to 25 people)
But we’ll have to wait until next Friday, July 3rd, to partake in the following:
- Indoor dining
- Indoor shopping malls
- Gyms
- Outdoor Group Sports
Otherwise, you’re pretty much good to go. You can get your hair cut. Movie theaters and casinos and similar entertainment venues can operate at 50% capacity. You’ll still need to wear a mask inside and adhere to social distancing procedures, but we’ve come quite a long way since April, when “some of us” were just sitting on our ass playing Rocket League every night.
Congratulations to everybody in Pennsylvania. Let’s stay safe and act smart and soon we’ll have sports back.
Yeehaw.
