Oh no.

Manco and Manco is shutting down Ocean City locations today because some employees tested positive for COVID-19.

Here’s the blurb from Action News:

Manco & Manco Pizza will be shutting down their Ocean City locations Tuesday to sanitize and then suspending the sale of slices starting tomorrow after three employees tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement posted to social media late Monday night, the Manco family said two of the employees who tested positive for coronavirus were asymptomatic.

The three employees are in self-quarantine for 14 days and will be tested before returning to work. The family said all employees who worked with the affected staff members have been required to get tested prior to returning to work.

The article goes on to say that Manco will reopen with WHOLE PIE sales only, no slices. They’ll sanitize restaurants today and be back in business tomorrow with extra health and safety precautions.

Full disclosure, I took the family to the Ocean City boardwalk 10 days ago, on the Fourth of July. Don’t tell Kyle, because he’ll have a heart attack. Maybe 50% of people were wearing masks, but it SEEMED like a majority of folks were at least trying to steer away from other groups of people and give them their space. The Surf Mall and other spots were open, but you weren’t allowed to enter and buy that Bob Marley poster without putting on a mask, so it wasn’t like people were totally in la-la land.

However, the biggest violators I’d say were TEENAGERS walking up and down the boards in big groups without a care in the world. So if you wanna hit the boards sometime this summer, maybe just watch out for the throngs of kids and the pizza slices and you should be alright.
