We Found The Guys Chanting "Sign J.T.!" From Outside Citizens Bank Park
To begin, if you want to read about Enyel De Los Santos, Andrew McCutchen, and some of my other observations from last night’s scrimmage at Citizens Bank Park, you can do so right here. I strongly recommend it.
Now, on to the important stuff.
About two hours into the latest red vs. white Phillies intrasquad scrimmage last night, I spotted some young gentlemen positioned outside of the centerfield gates beyond Ashburn Alley. I tweeted about it:
Three kids on bikes out beyond the CF gates are yelling “Sign J.T.!”
They are easily 600 feet away from where I am sitting. It sounded like they were next to me.

These guys had the same youthful exuberance of that go “Goooooooo birdzzzz!” kid from a few years back. You remember him, I’m sure. This fella:
This seems appropriate since it’s #Vikings week! Go Birds!!🦅#FlyEaglesFly pic.twitter.com/aIGqb9uyCr

Anyway, there were approximately five reporters, and, let’s see, *zero* fans at the park, so everybody in the stadium could hear these guys loud and clear.
As it turns out, they spotted my tweet and then identified themselves as the ones making a modest request of the Phillies front office:

Based on the Twitter profiles, it looks like these guys are Neumann Goretti baseball players, and I gotta say, great effort, great energy from these dudes. I 100% respect it.
I’m from South Jersey, so I don’t know too much about Pennsylvania prep baseball. However, based on what I’m seeing here, I suspect these guys are set to make some noise in the Philadelphia Catholic League in 2021.
Crown ’em now – an aggressive, winning mentality on full display. Look out next season, PCL.
