Not sure if you recall this, but last year a New Jersey appeals court upheld a $1.5 million award to Mitch Williams, which goes back to his 2014 MLB Network firing for alleged misconduct at a youth baseball tournament. The reported behavior, which was chronicled by Deadspin, alleged that the Wild Thing swore at umpires and told a pitcher to throw at an opposing batter, which Williams denied. He sued and won in 2017.

The reason we’re setting up the story this way is because Williams references his firing in a comprehensive Twitter rant unleashed this morning, in which he goes after MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred and Chief Operating Officer Tony Pettiti, saying that they’re ruining the sport of baseball while suggesting that recent rule changes were made to line their own pockets instead of improving the game for the fans.

Here’s the rant in its entirety, which seems to be spurred by an article in The Athletic titled “After five years running Major League Baseball, who is Rob Manfred as a leader?”

It’s a great rant. If you’re gonna go for it, get your money’s worth.
