No Jalen Reagor for the Eagles on Sunday. He’s on injured reserve with a thumb injury and expected to miss a few weeks of action.

That means we’re looking at more snaps for J.J. Arcega-Whiteside or perhaps John Hightower on the outside, depending on what kind of looks we get from the Birds against Cincinnati. They went heavy 12-personnel this past Sunday and Greg Ward barely saw the field, getting just 13 snaps in the slot.

The good thing is that Alshon Jeffery appears to be making progress. Thursday, he was wearing his helmet at practice and took part in drills for the first time since undergoing Lisfranc surgery after suffering the injury at the tail end of last season.

Some clips:

Looks great to me. Put him in coach! (He probably won’t be ready for Sunday, October seems likely for a return)

On a serious note, the Eagles could benefit from having a veteran, bigger-bodied possession receiver out there. Alshon might snag some of the wayward passes Carson Wentz is throwing. Doug Pederson says there are no “layups” in the National Football League, but the figurative rim looks bigger when the receiver has a larger catch radius.
