Sam Cassell Reportedly Added to Doc Rivers' Coaching Staff
Big day for the Sixers!
First they get Daryl Morey, then Dan Burke from the Pacers, and now Sam Cassell is reportedly joining the staff:

Cassell, the three-time NBA champion, was linked to some head coaching jobs recently. He worked with Flip Saunders as a Washington assistant and then joined Doc Rivers with the Clippers from 2014 until 2020. Cassell played for both Saunders and Rivers and won a title on Doc’s 2008 Boston team.
As it stands, the Sixers’ coaching staff looks something like this:
- Doc Rivers – head coach
- Dave Joerger – assistant
- Dan Burke – assistant
- Sam Cassell – assistant
Kevin Young left to join the Suns and there’s no official word on Ime Udoka and Joseph Blair right now, though with these hires it would seem like they’re going to be gone. There’s also this report from David Aldridge:
More 76ers news: per sources, Doc Rivers is expected to elevate his former head video coordinator with the Clippers, Pete Dominguez, to an associate coach position in Philly. Dominguez has impressed in various positions the past few years and earned the bench opportunity.

Major moves for the Sixers, who also added Peter Dinwiddie, Prosper Karangwa, and Jameer Nelson to front office positions. Total overhaul in Camden.
