Eagles vs. Saints on Sunday afternoon.

Who will be the starting quarterback? It’s a controversy!

Obviously we’re not gonna get anything from Doug Pederson on the day after the Packers loss. He’s keeping that information to himself, RE: Sunday’s starter. No matter who he rolls out there, the Eagles will likely lose, so it’s not that big of a deal.

But the topic of “competitive advantage” came up in Monday’s press conference and Doug said this about holding off on naming a starter so as to not alert New Orleans and their asshole head coach:

“I do think it’s important that once I make the decision, whoever that is, they take the bulk of the reps, right? That’s how they prepare during the week. As far as the competitive advantage goes, I can probably say that this is gonna stay quiet, but it probably won’t, it’ll probably get out and you guys will find out.

As far as competitive advantage, I do feel like the longer you can keep the opponent waiting on a dual quarterback situation, it could possibly help a little bit. But we’ll see how the week goes. I’m kind of processing this right now but as soon as I make a decision I’ll probably let you know sooner rather than later.”

Well that’s really nice of him to let us know. He doesn’t have to say anything, and he’s right that it will get out at some point. Somebody will break the news of who is the starting quarterback on Sunday.

Regardless, the Eagles will get rolled by a team starting Taysom Hill at quarterback, who, on a serious note, looked pretty good Sunday. I put 50 bucks on the Falcons and I’m licking my wounds today.
