We’re gonna cover all of the sports today.

So far we’ve hit on football and baseball; now it’s time for your latest Philadelphia 76ers and Houston Rockets possible trade update:

Yaron wrote the Tanking to the Top book that we reviewed a few months ago.

Three first rounders and Ben Simmons for James Harden seems… steep. Dunno, I guess it depends on how you think the Sixers should approach this. If you’re going out to get Harden to pair with Joel Embiid, then the championship window opens up right now and the first round picks don’t really mean anything, because you’d be going for broke in the short term and not really concerned with drafting. Harden is 31 years old so he’ll begin to decline at some point, but he would immediately turn this team into a contender.

Embiid is 26 and Simmons is 24, so if you keep your superstar pair together you probably have more longevity, but does a longer term Simmons/Embiid pair ultimately get you closer to a ring than a more immediate Embiid/Harden pair? That’s where fan opinion seems to be split. I think most people are in agreeance that Harden elevates the conversation right off the jump, but the window shrinks.

We’ll see if the noise quiets down or increases as we get closer to the season. First preseason game tomorrow night.
